If you have Allergies that affect your game, Minnesota Hockey Camps Has the Cure
It’s pollen season so allergies become a concern. Allergies have been known to keep young athletes fm reaching their full potential. The most prominent list we have compiled @ Minnesota Hockey Camps over our thirty-four years @ Minnewawa Lodge is as follows:
Allergic to criticism and constructive critique; both verbal and video
Allergic to training; they break out and breath heavily as soon they hear the word
Allergic to the weight room and weights of any kind
Allergic to dry land areas; certain stations more than others
Allergic to any form of accountability, responsibility and promptness
Allergic to hard, honest and smart work on and off the ice
Allergic to nutritional food and drink and do not see the value in rest
Allergic to hill sprints
Allergic to overload training
Allergic to medicine balls
Allergic to slosh poles and ropes
Allergic to hurdles and plyometric stations of any kind
Allergic to testing; break out immediately when they hear the word
These allergies affect a person’s eyesight to the point where they just cannot see the value, however, all are curable through the Biblical Phrase found in John 9:25: “I was blind, but now I see.” The cure starts with open arms and moves through open ears, eyes, heart and mind. Add a large dose of boldness, caring, commitment, determination and try to enhance the process.
“Getting better starts with being a good listener; going on the defensive will kill any learning situation.”
Are allergies affecting your life off the ice and performance on the ice? Do you ever wonder why some teammates move on and up and you do not?
Try seeing yourself and your game as others see you and your game. You will see; it works and now you can see.
What works for athletes with longevity in the NHL will work for you. Study them if you are planning on playing alongside or against them.
