SNEEP CANDIDATE FOR MR. HOCKEY
Carl Sneep of Brainerd is one of the top 10 candidates announced Monday for the
22nd annual Mr. Hockey Award. Sneep joins Jay Barriball (Holy Angels),
David Fischer (Apple Valley), Michael Forney (Thief River Falls), Jordan Fulton
(Breck), David Grun (White Bear Lake), Kyle Medvec (Apple Valley), Joey Miller
(Wayzata), Nick Oslund (Burnsville) and Andy Sackirson (St. Louis Park).The
Minnesota Minutemen, who co-sponsor the award, also announced that Austin Lee of
Bloomington Jefferson has won The Frank Brimsek Award in recognition as the
state's top senior goaltender.
The Mr. Hockey Awards Banquet is scheduled noon March 12 at the Star Tribune
Grand Ballroom at the River Centre, 175 Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. Carl
Sneep is in contention for the coveted Mr. Hockey award. Three other
awards will be presented at the banquet: The Frank Brimsek Award, the John
Mariucci Award, given to the Class 1A and Class 2A high school coaches of the
year, and The Cliff Thompson Award, presented to the "Old-Timer Coach" of the

the outstanding senior high school hockey player in the state and is selected by
a panel of National Hockey League scouts, Division I coaches and media members
