MHC's "ELITE" BACK ON CAMPUS (7/26/06)

Minnesota Hockey Camps proves once again that it is where the elite come to train. This summer alone boasts some of the most talented and promising young players at almost every level. Attending camp this year are 18 drafted players. Scott Hartnell (NASH), Paul Stastny (COL),  T.J. Oshie (St. L), Blake Wheeler (PHO), and Chris Stewart (COL) all being first round picks. MHC welcomes 14 professional players including 5 year Nashville Predator Scott Hartnell, 3rd year Penguin forward Ryan Malone, Boston Forward Yan Stastny, 4th year Columbus Blue Jacket Duvie Wescott, And Stanley Cup finalist Matt Greene (EDM).

Twenty five Division-1 players are attending from colleges such as The University of Minnesota, St. Cloud State, North Dakota, Denver, Boston College, Boston University, Ohio State, University of Nebraska-Omaha, Northeastern, Northern Michigan, Dartmouth, Yale, Holy Cross, and Bemidji State. Besides standouts like Oshie(UND) and Wheeler(UofM), Paul Stastny the WCHA’s leading scorer once again returns to MHC. All-New England team, Boston University goalie, Jon Curry also comes to sharpen his skills. Highly touted 2nd round pick of Pittsburgh Carl Sneep will be entering Boston College’s historic institution and he wants to be at the top of his game before embarking on a huge turning point in his career.

Also going through MHC’s legendary dryland course are 26 high end junior players. 10 come from the US’ number one junior league the USHL. 6 players are from the NAHL and another 10 OHL/WHL players joining us from our northern neighbor Canada. Blue chip prospect Bradley Malone starts his year at Sioux Falls and is attending MHC for his 5th straight year. It is diversity that can’t be matched.

The MJHL, AJHL, SSJHL, D-3 College and other leagues round out some of the mixture of places players are from.

Through Minnesota Hockey Camps these elite players push themselves mentally and physically to the next level. As Pittsburgh Penguin Ryan Malone said “The payoff is worth the sacrifice, Minnesota Hockey Camps is one of a kind, it is really a special place.”
